Our Jost Van Dyke Beach Tours are a great way to enjoy the picturesque beach at White Bay and the infamous Soggy Dollar Bar. We’ll first board our roomy and comfortable power catamaran and cruise down the south coast of Tortola towards St. John in the US Virgin Islands. At the western end of Tortola we’ll turn north and pass colorful Soper’s Hole Marina as we head towards Jost Van Dyke. Once we reach White Bay, we’ll anchor our catamaran in its clear turquoise waters and drift the stern right up next to the white sand beach; to within a few feet of the world famous Soggy Dollar Bar. The Bars “Pain Killer” rum cocktails are a must to quench your thirst and the many hammocks strung between palm trees along the beach are the perfect place to kick back with cold drink in hand.
White Bay’s palm lined, white sand beach is among the “Top 10 Most Beautiful Beaches in the Caribbean” according to “Trip Advisor” and is always the perfect spot to do some not-so-serious people watching and some just plain ole chilling out. There is a shallow reef located near the shore on the eastern end of the beach and snorkel gear is available for guests to explore its colorful inhabitants. We also offer to take guests on a guided snorkel tour to the larger reef at the western end of White Bay where the coral is pristine and sea-life abounds. Jost Van Dyke has fewer than 200 inhabitants and they are widely known as a welcoming group of people. The island’s name, Jost Van Dyke, conjures up its rich and colorful past and is said to have been named for an early Dutch settler and former pirate.
Although it measures just four miles by three, with the highest point at 1,054 feet, this rugged island has been home to many people, including the Arawak Indians, Caribs, Dutch, Africans and British. It’s small size, isolated location and unique beach bars makes Jost Van Dyke one of the top topical hideaways in the world for beach lovers. After several hours of walking on the beach, sunbathing, and playing in the surf, we’ll re-board the large catamaran and enjoy a smooth and relaxing cruise home. On the cruise back, Captain Bill, or Captain Shane will mix up some rum cocktails at the bar and everyone receives at least one free painkiller, rumrunner or rum punch (it’s usually more than one). All personalized snorkel gear, floatation equipment and lessons are included for your convenience. At the bar spring water is complimentary and soft drinks, ice cold beer, frozen drinks and wine are available at a reasonable price.
